Coach story: Noela
Meet Noela: a student, French coach and mother living in Cape Town, South Africa.
Noela was born in Democratic Republic of Congo and now lives in Cape Town, South Africa.
Last year, she was awarded a major scholarship to study online at Southern New Hampshire University. She recently graduated from a foundation degree in General Studies, which she completed in just one year, instead of the normal two.
As a consequence, Noela was offered another scholarship to further her study for a Bachelor degree in Management with a focus on Human Resources. She’s trying to finish this degree early too, so that she can re-launch her career as soon as possible.
Around studying, Noela teaches French, her native language, on Chatterbox. She likes how these classes connect her with professionals from all over the world, with different life experiences, and says it broadens her perspective. Coaching is a good fit for her personality, because she doesn’t like to stay in her comfort zone!
Chatterbox classes are also a welcome opportunity for her to speak French, since she mostly uses English in her daily life.
In her childhood, Noela had to flee to another country to seek refuge. She didn’t have many years where she could just be a child. So her biggest priority is raising her two young sons, aged 10 and 3, to have all the advantages in life that she didn’t.
In her free time, Noela likes to spend time with her family.
She is a much-loved coach on Chatterbox, with over 200 lessons to her name and consistently glowing reviews from her students. We're immensely grateful to have her on the team! ❤️
Chatterbox’s language coaches are an inspiring pool of individuals who are marginalised in the job market by no fault of their own, including refugees, older professionals, and career re-starters.
